Personal Data Collected via Technology

In this section, we like to enumerate and define the technology we use to collect your Personal Data.

The technological means involved in taking Personal Data from you include URL, browser type, and IP address.

Uniform Resource Locator (URL) – The URL identifies your location or the site where you just came from, the URL you go to next, and the type of browser you use, and data of your browser, and your Internet Protocol (IP) address.

Internet Browser– Your browser is what you use to find and navigate websites and pages that you search on the internet (e.g., Google Chrome).

Internet Protocol address – IP address identifies the type of device you are using while searching through the internet and your local network or your local internet provider. It pertained to a number assigned to your computer as you use the internet.

Treat it like the number assigned to your home address. The IP address is like the internet address.

Your Ip address varies depending on what device and network location you are browsing from. And your Ip address may differ from one session to another. The reason why we track IP addresses is to monitor your cookies session and identify Web page flow. This allows us what pages on our site you mostly visit and topics you browse and use most of the time.

Cookies Policy- We also use “cookies’ and comply with the “cookies privacy policy.” Our site collects cookies that tell your site logins, site history- like what items you click or buy online. For our website, these are the services you click to follow or subscribe to topics and videos and images you check out to learn various drills, health guides, etc.

Cookies are tiny information taken by your computer when you are viewing our website. Or these are bits of information that our website delivers to your computer. Plumb Line University uses session cookies for website viewing and persistent cookies. Session cookies expire once the browser is closed. You can delete persistent cookies from your computer when you clear history. But doing so will delete the info of your web page flow and cause you to browse the website longer to find your most liked topic or service from us.

That is why cookies allow us to give you the full user experience—keeping it interactive and providing you a personalized web browsing experience.

Some websites display a prompt if you want to use cookies. But when you browse and click through our pages on the website, you voluntarily accept cookies. This is for us to track or identify the services you are taking an interest in from us. The cookies we collect are used to identify Personal Data such as e-mails. And also, we use cookies to clear GIFs when you acquire services from our site.

Plumb Line University uses both session cookies (which expire once you close your Web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our site.

You have complete control to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers are automated to accept cookies. But you can disable this function by changing your computer’s Web browser’s cookie profile.

But is there a downside to disabling cookies? Disabling cookies will diminish access to certain features of our site. There will be features you will no longer enjoy fully, such as “Remember My Password.” Plumb Line University does not store any Personal Data in cookies on your computer (other than the cookie itself).

Clear GIFs– Clear GIFs are clear electronic images used to track your Web page flow on our site. They help us identify what health topics or contents are engaging and practical to you. Content on our site is effective. The clear GIFs in HTML-based e-mails also allow us to tell which e-mails have been responded to by our recipients (including which the message is forwarded to on our end.

Our site’s clear GIFs collect only a limited set of information. This info contains the cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page to which the clear GIF belongs or is linked to.
